In 1959 a young man had an idea: to provide life insurance and benefits to an underserved market - small businesses. George Wladis was just 20 years old when he started the company that bears his family's name. He began his insurance career at Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company on West Genesee Street in Syracuse. It was there that he discovered that there were very few benefit options for small, local businesses to choose from. He took what he learned and was inspired to go out on his own and shake things up a bit.

After a stint in the U.S. Air Force based in Germany, George returned home to Syracuse and continued to build his business. As the industry has grown and changed, so has Wladis. Now, with his son Steven by his side as President of the company, The Wladis Companies service, consult and provide benefits for a full range of business through Central New York and the region.

Over time much has changed in the insurance industry, and The Wladis Companies have kept pace by offering innovative and creative benefit programs to businesses large and small. But one thing has remained the same since George opened the doors back in 1959 - their commitment to providing their customers with outstanding, personal service.
